[editor’s note: I did not actually write this. This is the first time I’ve published a submission from an outside author. For personal reasons he would like to remain anonymous, But I will vouch for his sincerity and that he is a well educated man not prone to paranoia. I also agree with his sentiments here. These people are dangerous, which is why it is imperative that every official in Washington D.C. do everything in their power to prevent Donald Trump from doing further damage to our nation, including impeachment, invoking the 25th amendment and any other remedy for this cancer. – Scotty Why]

So now that they’ve had a taste of what violent insurrection looks like, and they’ve been lambasted by moderate republicans, what happens now? They’ve seen how weak the defenses are, how unwilling police were to use force on white demonstrators, and how multiple GOP congressmen actually helped them gain access to the building. They literally kicked down the doors and rubbed feces on the capitol after announcing they were going to try to get their dictator installed in a coup. They threatened anyone who chose the Constitution over Trump and after 60 lost court cases, recounts, audits, etc. they still choose doctored videos and painfully easily debunked theories and falsehoods that would be laughable in any other setting. Now that Twitter and about half of the GOP have grown a spine, they’ve boxed him out of some of his favorite venues but he’s not done. This coup isn’t done. They will be back, emboldened by the entitlement ethos of white grievance politics, believing that this election was theirs by birthright, and that no evidence – however unbiased – is true if it works against them.

This is what he saw with the birther movement; an opening to tell lies people want to believe, and he kept it going for years, building on a willingness to stubbornly refuse verifiable fact. This blind allegiance and refusal to be swayed by disproving obvious untruths is not a movement, it’s a religion, and an increasingly hostile one. They’re not done. The jokes about Vanilla ISIS and Y’all Qaeda don’t seem funny anymore after watching the Boogaloos parade around my state capitol armed to the teeth, and seeing a plot uncovered to kidnap a state official. They built a gallows at the DC protest, carried zip tie handcuffs, and prowled the halls of Congress searching for people they considered traitors to their hateful cult. They told the world what they planned, and despite being banned from some social media sites, they’re planning to try again. Now that the reasonable members have been excised by their unwillingness to participate, what remains is a hardcore, violent, delusional group of highly armed zealots who believe that their birthright was taken from them. They’re fed a steady stew of self righteous affirmation and paranoid theories, and the few outlets where they’ve been openly contested have now surrendered and facilitated complete immersion for the most dedicated branches of this sect. Watch Parler and the other sites where they’re openly calling for armed violence. They’re telling you, like ISIS, exactly what they’re planning. They’re coming back, they’re coming armed, and if you don’t agree with them you’re the enemy. They think the revolution is upon us and the bloodletting is just getting started.
