Yard Sale Toys Debut April 4, 2022

In honor of the two year anniversary of the COVID lockdown, Yard Sale Toys will be releasing their Quarantine Concept Album, “Spring Break 2020“. Streaming on all digital platforms and available for download on Bandcamp starting on April 4th, 2022. Spring Break 2020 is a musical journey through the early days of the COVID pandemic. Using a variety of musical influences, it captures the awkwardness, confusion, and sometimes humor of having your entire world come to a screeching halt. Each song addresses a different aspect of living in quarantine, such as: Can you experience love-at-first-sight if everyone is wearing a mask? Is Windex an acceptable substitute for hand sanitizer? Can a society built on hyper-consumerism survive if it can’t go shopping? Can being forced to spend every waking moment with your significant other help rekindle the passion in your heart?

The songs were written and recorded over the course of 5 months in the spring and summer of 2020 in a spare bedroom at singer/guitarist Scotty Why’s house. Day by day, as the world learned new ways of living with the virus, a new song would start to take shape. It became a form of therapy for the band. Rather than worry about getting sick or jobs disappearing, creating music seemed better for their mental health.
